About Us

AEROQUEST INTERNATIONAL LIMITED is a mining and energy services company providing commercial airborne geophysical surveys for use in mineral and oil and gas exploration. Aeroquest is also developing applications for its proprietary time domain electromagnetic systems in the environmental services and ground water exploration industries.

Aeroquest was incorporated in 1988 by Wally Boyko, a seasoned veteran of both the geophysical surveying and mineral exploration communities. Wally founded Aerodat Limited in 1969, building that company into one of the world's recognized leaders in airborne geophysical surveying services and an innovator of new geophysical survey technology. In 1987 he sold Aerodat, founding Aeroquest a year later.

During the early 1990's, Aeroquest outfitted and operated a Piper Navajo fixed-wing aircraft with high sensitivity magnetics and VLF-EM, and flew over 300,000 line km of geophysical surveys in the search for new kimberlite targets. In 1997, Aeroquest completed the development of a helicopter-borne electromagnetic (HEM) system in the frequency domain (the AeroFEX system) and initiated the development of a time-domain EM system (the AeroTEM system). In April 1999, AeroTEM was introduced to the commercial survey market.

Aeroquest's continuing advancement of HEM technology resulted in the introduction of AeroTEM II in 2003, providing the addition of on-time measurements for enhanced conductor detection and discrimination. In early 2005 Aeroquest followed this up with the introduction of AeroTEM III, a large diameter (9 metre) sytem with three to six times the power of AeroTEM II. In late 2005, Aeroquest lauched AeroTEM IV, a 12 metre diameter system with a peak power level up to ten times as large as AeroTEM II.

Aeroquest currently offers all three versions of its AeroTEM time-domain EM systems as well as the AeroFEX frequency-domain HEM system, and AeroMAG systems directly and in connection with its partners worldwide.
