HeliMAG :: Stinger and Tri-Axial Magnetic Gradiometer

DESCRIPTION

HeliMAG Brochure
Radiometrics Brochure

Aeroquest operates two helicopter-borne magnetometer systems. The first is the tri-axial magnetic gradiometer system (TAG) which employs high resolution optically-pumped magnetic sensors with unique 3D sensor geometry for more detail and definition in gold and other mineral exploration surveys.

The second system is a stinger-mounted magnetometer system which employs the same high resolution magnetic sensor mounted on a boom. The stinger system is best suited for ultra-high resolution surveys in moderate to challenging terrain. Surveys can be flown with a line spacing as tight as 20 m and with a sensor height of less than 10 m.

Advantages of TAG

  • More accurate target positioning
  • Good performance in challenging terrain
  • Detailed definition of structure and small sources
  • Enhanced definition of complex structures
  • Actual gradients for improved cross-line gridding

Advantages of Stinger

  • Stable platform for low noise recording
  • Highest available airborne spatial resolution
  • Lightweight for flying in rugged and mountainous terrain
  • Compensation of mag data to monitor and remove platform-induced noise
  • Accurate topographic drape flying
  • High data sampling rate
