Field Geophysicist and Data Processors

Job Description:

• Operate and maintain all field processing equipment and software under the care of the Contractor.
• In conjunction with the operator and heli-crew, complete SAR forms at the start of each job, post them at the job site and transmit them to OPS management at the Aeroquest head office.
• Ensure that sufficient backup equipment is available and adhere to the daily data backup and verification procedures.
• Perform the required processing of the geophysical data in a careful and timely manner.
• Maintain and update the operations report on a daily basis ensuring that all the information contained within is accurate and complete.
• Maintain detailed daily production reporting to the office.
• Perform QA/QC checks in an effective and timely manner to ensure that all data and systems are performing in an optimal manner. Where data quality is out of spec, communicate the problem with the Aeroquest operator before any further production flying is carried out.
• Notify the office immediately about any data which is found to be out of spec or of any significant degradation of the survey data that can not be reasonably explained by causes external to the geophysical systems.
• Document and report any repairs or modifications done to the Equipment or support gear as communicated by the Aeroquest operator.
• Maintain constant communications within the field crew.
• Maintain daily communication with the client representative regarding production, weather, and general information regarding any equipment delays.
• When required, provide access to the Client for the final processed data.
• Work in a safe and environmentally friendly manner.
• Assist the operator in logistical duties when required.
• Extensive travel to remote locations, possibly for 3 weeks or more
• Varying living conditions
• Some physical work when in field

Criteria:

• Degree in Geophysics preferred or degree in similar discipline or
• Over 5 years experience with Technician college diploma
• Excellent Communication Skills, written and verbal
• Excellent Planning & Organizational Skills
• Results Oriented
• Ability to take Initiative
• Excellent Problem Solving Skills
