Airborne Geophysical Technician & Operator

Department: Operations

Summary:

You will be a team member of a growing manufacturing unit, where you'll use your skills to assist in the manufacturing of our helicopter-borne surveying instrumentation.

Responsibilities:

  • Operate and maintain all airborne geophysical equipment under the care of the Contractor (the "Equipment")
  • Perform installation of the Equipment into various helicopter platforms in accordance with Aeroquest guidelines
  • Transport the Equipment in a safe manner, to and from survey job sites via Aeroquest provided vehicles
  • Maintain an inventory of all components of the Equipment to prevent the loss of any component
  • Report and execute required repairs and maintenance on the Equipment and vehicles to maintain continual operational status.
  • Operate and maintain the Equipment related to ground support that is required to execute airborne surveys
  • Notify the office immediately upon any failure of any part of the Equipment or any degradation of the quality of signal produced by the Equipment, or the requirement to replenish any consumables associated with the Equipment
  • Report and document any repairs or modifications done to the Equipment or support gear
  • Manage and maintain communications within the field crew, including aircraft personnel
  • Provide any and all necessary ground support (fuel positioning, basic logistics, etc.) to ensure continued airborne operations
  • Work in a safe and environmentally friendly manner, including ensuring all refuel sites are reported and cleared prior to departure of work area
  • Extensive travel to remote locations, up to 5 weeks or more
  • Varying living conditions
  • Some physical work when in field

Technical Skills:

  • Experience with Electronics and Repair Maintenance
  • Electronic Technician college diploma or equivalent will be an asset
  • Experience in Airborne Surveying Operations an asset
